This presentation will provide an update on issues related to the implementation of OSHA’s Respirable Crystalline Silica standards, and will describe enforcement policies and procedures to be used by OSHA compliance staff in addressing respirable crystalline silica exposures in the workplace. Anticipated changes in enforcement procedures as a result of new requirements, including the new permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 µg/m³ and the action level of (AL) 25 µg/m³, will be addressed. The presentation will offer information on the OSHA inspection process and will provide clarifying guidance for achieving compliance with control methods (i.e., engineering controls, work practices and respiratory protection) designated for specific tasks outlined in Table 1 of the Construction standard.

Hopefully you've heard the news. OSHA has issued a final rule on Walking-Working Surfaces and Personal Fall Protection Systems (29 CFR 1910 Subpart D&I). The final rule went into effect January 17, 2017. The final rule includes revised and new information that addresses everything from fixed ladders and fall protection systems to training and design requirements. The supporting materials in the rule reference over a dozen industry standards, from A1264.1-2007 (Safety Requirements for Workplace Walking/Working Surfaces & Their Access) to Z359.1-2007 (Safety Requirements for Personal Fall Arrest Systems). Learn all about the new rule and get your questions answered in this interactive panel discussion.
